Current Topics in the Care of the Athletic Shoulder

Keynote Speaker - Sue Falsone, PT, MS, SCS, ATC, CSCS

Sue Falsone Bio HeadshoDirector of Performance Physical Therapy at Athletes' Performance and Core Performance; Major League Physical Therapist for the LA Dodgers

Sue received her Physical Therapy degree from Daeman College in her hometown of Buffalo, New York. She continued her education by earning a Masters Degree in Human Movement Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Sue has presented at both state and national level conferences in areas focusing on Pillar Strength, Integration of Physical Therapy and Performance Training, and Comprehensive Kinetic Chain Assessment and Rehabilitation.

Sue is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS), a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (ASTYM) through Performance Dynamics. She also holds an adjunct faculty position with the Human Movement Program at A.T. Still University.  Sue is also the team Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Focus at AP: Sue's exceptional hands-on skills and knowledge of human movement provides the critical link from therapy to performance. With her expertise, she develops and implements therapy regimens for the athletes and works closely with our performance coaches to integrate the rehabilitating athlete into the training process.

Deniz Baysal, M.D. (Assistant Clinical Professor, University of California, San Francisco) has agreed to serve as the moderator for the 2009 Sports Medicine Symposium.


Dr. Baysal is an orthopedic surgeon working with University Orthopedic Associates in Fresno, California.

The Central California Sports Sciences Institute (formerly known as the Central California Sports Medicine Institute) is operated by faculty and administration of the College of Health and Human Services at California State University, Fresno. This program is presented annually in an effort to enhance health care for the active population of the Central California region. The Symposium is designed to provide training and discussion amongst health care practitioners (e.g., MD, ATC, PT, DC, RN, FNP, CSCS). Topics presented during this symposium are geared toward medical and allied medical practitioners and students in these related areas.
